Look, when I am playing Faveoe's Monkey King Online, KaZe guild is the most boastful and dangerous. And I constantly keep on complaining about them...

They will hunt me and not allow me to join this guild. I was trying to get peaches and I was trying to escort in 2x safeguard. I was angry at them.

Actually I picked Aeris, in FF VII. Which made her death a bit of an obsession with me. I can't recall how many times I went back to try and change that only to find out that it was scripted and there was no way around it. It did make beating Sephiroth personal though, so there's that.

The way I remember it and granted it has been about 18 years since I played it, There were some subtle choices you made earlier in the game that opened up the choices of who you would take out on that date. To get the Barrett option I think you had to do some thing special and Yuffie was actually the hardest to get as far as an option because she joins the team so late compared to the others.

Nice review. Loved this game and I'm hoping for new levels, bosses or characters as DLC, I'll gladly pay for that since I feel I got more than enough of my money's worth. I'm not particularly offended by the art, I doubt my wife will play it with me, though. A shame too since this game is right up her alley.

Food is an overriding theme amongst the Vanillaware Games From Odin's Sphere, Murmasa: The Demon Blade, and Grim Grimoire. Great review for those who haven't played any of their other games, do yourself a favor and grab them up from the PSN store they are all gems.

Thank you fellow Ashmancer. I think that anyone who played Mass Effect 1 will have a hard lined love or hate opinion for Ashley. I remember when I first played it and she began spewing her xenophobic rhetoric it truly disappointed me. Not because I wanted to romance her, but because I thought she was a badass Marine. I had a hard choice emotionally when I played it and I remember going with "maybe I can change her mind about aliens" and was so happy that Shepard could. Once she dropped the shields, tried to save Shep from Wrex and opened her mind to the alien integration I thought she was a perfect for for Shepard.

Mass Effect 2 did something similar with Miranda by making her a cold, unlikable woman -- and very much a Cerberus Cheerleader like Jack calls her. I beat 2 a total of 6 times due to the awesome romance story lines (something that was missing in 3) and Miranda giving you a quickie in the engine room was disappointing. Jack by far is the most emotionally satisfying, as you have a battered, scarred and angry woman who everybody hates completely open up her vulnerabilities to Shepard whereas Miranda just lets you have sex with her. I was pissed at Ashley in 2 but when she came back in 3 I was over it and happy to rekindle their relationship.

What sucks about the way Bioware wrote the love stories is that in 3, if you have Miranda as your girl, it feels right... it feels like that's how it should be. Hell Liara seems more like the "canon" love choice for Shep the way she gives him "f-- me" eyes in every scene in 3 and not to mention her return in 2 with that huge Shadow Broker expansion. Ashley in 3 feels like an after-thought. It was disappointing.

In the end, I chose Jack as my Shepard's love interest. She wasn't given many scenes in 3 but the few you had with her were enough. This was better than an Ashley who felt patched in to resolve angry Ashmancers that hated what they did with her in 2... but ya, between these 2 ladies I was locked into Ashley but part 3 makes you feel guilty as hell for choosing her over Miranda.

Okay, so I'm pretty late to the ballgame here; I just ran into this site yesterday! I'm just playing ME1, ME2, ME3 again and just like the first time through I'm just drawn to Ashley. Her story, her attitude, her honesty; when Shepard is getting screwed by the council she's the one that speaks up and defends him. When Ashley was so cold and standoffish in ME2 I was really pissed like many other players. But if you look at it from her perspective...for the last 2 years she's been suffering from the loss of Shepard. When her platoon died she thought it should have been her, when Alenko died she thought it should have been her and I'm SURE that when the greatest Human hero of all-time died, and his last act was stuffing her in an escape pod so she could escape, she thought: It should have been her. So for two years she was ground down emotionally with guilt....and then Shepard is back. But Ashley is a religious woman....who believes in God so how is it possible that he's back when she SAW him get spaced? Add in that he's working for Cerberus (I didn't realize how many nasty things Cerberus was behind in ME1 until I replayed it!), an organization that is known for their shady experimentation and lack of moral compass, and of course she's going to be skeptical, hell even hostile. She's thinking, what is Shepard? Cyborg? Clone? Who knows?? Is he controlled by Cerberus (as Miranda would have done)? So, bottom line I get her reaction so I don't fault her; it's the defensive mechanism of a person who cares deeply for Shepard. I only wish she had more face time in ME2! So, I'm team Ashley all the way!
I will say that in one of my playthroughs I romanced Miranda and thought that Shepard and her worked together...talk about a true power couple! In ME3, however I broke up with her to get back with Liara....and I must say that was the hardest ME breakup scene to watch because you could tell she was truly heartbroken....that sucked. I'd much rather have had Jack telling me to "FUCK OFF!". Ah well, just had to throw it out there.

omg agree with everything yo just said. That being said I havent played the first game. Its not that I dont like Ashley, its the fact that Ashley is no Miranda. Shep and Miranda get one another, and the fact that she is willing to turn her back on everything she has ever known to be with shep shows that she is worthy of his trust and his love. PS: I stupidly chose to side with Jack on ME2 when her and Miranda are arguing (in all fairness I didnt know of the reprecussions at the time) and in turn lost Mirandas loyalty:o ..... I restarted the game:) Love them as a couple!!!

It's fine if you don't like the reboot BUT

A) Bitch about something other than simply the appearance (especially when you're adjectives are.... just... wrong). Talk about gameplay, character development or SOMETHING in additions.

B) If you're trying to say that men who play Tomb Raider aren't all just shallow pervs (which I agree, many enjoyed the game) ONLY bitching about her "less attractive" appearance re-asserts the very stereotype you're trying to prove wrong.....

Logic: you have none.
